Donna spent her career primarily in the high tech world of software for thirty years. Her focus was on solving business problems with technology, and managing change. She worked in tech when no one knew what software was, and with some of the ultimate leaders in the field - Including Marc Andreessen (He wrote the first internet browser). Her favorite part of her experience was working with clients, delivering their outcomes - and connecting.
For the same amount of time, her life has been focused on philanthropy and contribution. She spent over 20 years doing volunteer fundraising to driving a 20 foot truck from Manhattan to Montauk for the Multiple Sclerosis Society! When 9/11 happened, as soon as she could get into the city, she began supporting the families of Cantor Fitzergerald (company that lost the most people) at their crisis centers and ultimately their relief fund. She helped run production for their annual memorial for over 10 years. Her main belief is that we are all in this life together, and if we can help - we should.
She has spent many years studying personal growth and development. She served as a head coach in one program whose focus was for people living their best life and contributing to the greater world around them. This program led to creations like the LuLuLemon brand, the AIDS walk and more! Many of life's best lessons from this part of her life show up in her teachings.
She began studying things not traditionally taught in school that expanded her appreciation of life. She became a certified Laughter Yoga Leader after having positive experiences taking classes and seeing how her mom who had dementia was able to have fun and become happy as a result. Here is her profile on the Laughter Yoga site: Donna Dudek - Laughter Yoga International .
Donna is also a certified Qoya teacher. Qoya is a movement form (initially focused on women) where it's a combination of Yoga, Dance and Sensual (meaning "feeling") movement. The main premise is if it's feels good in our bodies, you are doing it right - bringing the participant's focus on how they feel in the moment. She weaves music along with the 13 pillars to ensure the embodiment creates space for the theme. After leading at Sacred Brooklyn on the theme of Release, one participant shared "It was better than going to church for her". More information on Qoya is found here: https://www.qoyainspiredmovement.com/.
During the pandemic, when connection was missing during our isolation, Donna was invited to the Clubhouse platform where she connected with the participants from all over the world from the luxury of her home. She met someone who started a room on Gratitude - which aligned with her views as she believes gratitude is an essential part of our lives, and we are so fortunate to have many things to be grateful for in life. Over time the room evolved into a non-profit, offering programs on Gratitude. Donna has been moderating (hosting) the room for over 4 1/2 years with her "Glatitude Sister" on Thursday mornings from 8:30 to 10, where they combine music with gratitude during their shift providing a space where the guests can share, connect with the community and contribute.
At this phase in her evolution, Donna's focus is on her dream of becoming a JOY fairy - spreading this vital component in life. In person services in New Jersey or available virtually as well! Don't delay your stress relief, JOY and gratitude.
